The three boundary myths, corrected
- Myth: city name = district. Fact: five districts cross this corridor, and every one of them serves addresses in multiple cities. Fort Worth addresses on the spine feed Keller ISD, Northwest ISD, or Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD — essentially never Fort Worth ISD. Haslet splits. Northlake splits.
- Myth: the listing's district field is verified. Fact: it's a data entry. Often right, sometimes stale, occasionally wrong — and never a substitute for the district's own tool.
- Myth: the district today is the district forever. Fact: attendance zones in fast-growth districts get redrawn as campuses open, and district-level structures themselves can be the subject of governance decisions over time. Verify current status; ask about planned changes.
The five-minute method
- 1. Look up the exact address in the district's official attendance-zone tool (each corridor district publishes one).
- 2. Record the assigned elementary, middle, and high school — the zone, not just the district, is the answer.
- 3. Cross-check the county appraisal district's record for the address, which lists the taxing school district — a second, independent confirmation that also previews your tax rate.
- 4. New-construction phase? Call the district and ask two questions: current assignment, and whether the area is in any rezoning study.
- 5. Get the answer in writing before it drives a purchase.
